I love how this article begins. It talks about how Mister Rogers mom told him to “look for the helpers” during difficult or frightening times. I agree with that philosophy. We know there are a lot of people out there trying to help during the global pandemic. We thank each and every one of them.
Designers are trying to find a way to help too! Some are signing up to design masks, sew masks, as well as design and create leaflets and information sheets which are needed more than ever now.
I, myself, know someone in print who helped my mother-in-law design a sign that will help deliver packages right to her doorstep during the pandemic. This sign alone helps keep this older couple healthy and safe!
Do you know anyone in design who is trying to help? Are you using your skills to help during the pandemic? I’m sure helping is just as contagious as the virus so please share your story!
I love seeing people doing good things! It’s a great reminder that we can all help in any way, big or small. I haven’t seen any graphic design in my life, however I’ve seen individuals from all backgrounds using their platform on social media or in business to share resources, create campaigns, and show support of front line workers and the BLM movement. I have seen a few clothing lines and fashion designers opt to donate towards pandemic or BLM related companies or efforts in the past few months. I have friends who own a boutique and opted to sell hand made masks, for every purchase they donated one to a healthcare workers and did a bulk donation of masks and scrub hats prior to listing them for sale to the public. This is an awesome reminder that there is positivity all around us
