The Main Trends in Graphic Design Today

I was a graphic design minor in college so this article caught my eye. It talks about the 10 main trends in graphic design today. In my opinion technology plays a huge role in how graphics design will evolve through the next 10-20 years, especially with the 3D and Realism visuals that are in the making. Graphic design is very much influenced on current pop culture and consumers perceptions. Look at all the covid face masks and BLM designs that have been made due to current events. What other trends do you see in graphic design today? What technologies have been introduced to the graphic design world that the typical person wouldn’t know about? Is the graphic design industry thriving right now or has business slowed down?

I’ve seen some really insanely creative face masks lately. During the pandemic, I’ve even seen one peer of mine in particular start selling hand-made diamond-studded face masks! Definitely a new creative outlet I didn’t anticipate walking into 2020. I also wonder if, with the shift towards using nostalgia as a marketing technique, we’ll see some of those designs from the 90’s come back at a more excessive rate. Abstract Illustrations a lot of times gives me those 90’s vibes. And I’m a ride-hard GIF fan till I die!
