A new EU proposal, that is likely to pass, calls for the majority of electronic devices- smartphones, tablets, cameras, headphones, portable speakers, and handheld video game consoles- to contain only a USB-C charging port, rather than use any other type of charger, in order to reduce waste. Apple, who would suffer a decent amount from this ruling, states that this would cause their one billion users to dispose of their multiple chargers, which would create a ton of waste over the course of the next few years. But would the end justify the means for such a technological update? What are your thoughts on this ruling?
