Massachusetts making an effort

Massachusetts made a decision get some much needed funding to community hospitals. Among other public health measures included in the bill, is a law requiring insurers to cover primary care telehealth visits. What do you all think this could mean for the telehealth industry, that is already experiencing in upswing? What kind of legal measures is your state taking in terms of public health, and how do you think thats effecting the healthcare industry there?

That decision is really going to help a lot of people, good for MA. I definitely anticipate telehealth services becoming even more huge by the end of the year. That said, I feel like these services cannot accomplish a lot of what can only be done in doctors offices, which is still a bit concerning for me. While it’s great for doctors writing you a prescription for minor aches or pains, this won’t help much in the case of major medical emergencies. For now, at least it’s keeping more people out of the hospital than what we’d typically see.
