The United States along with many other countries are taking on efforts to build a 2nd Internet along side the current internet, but using the rules of quantum mechanics to share information more securely. Harnessing the properties of atoms, photons and electrons. Very interesting read. I was surprised how global this effort is. Check it out!

Being able to send information faster than light speed by understanding the properties of quantum mechanics, I don’t think will be the 2nd internet, it will be THE internet. In a future where interplanetary contact will be in demand, the QuantamNet will be an essential necessity.
With leaps being taken all the time in Quantum Computing this definitely will be THE internet, as Nrodi says here above. If we think about how far computers have come in the past 30 years or so, we’re talking about super computers taking up entire rooms with computing power that we can now fit into the space your pinky finger nail takes up.
Quantum computing will make the current software look not only slow but bulky as well. Why not use it to make a safer and faster internet? What do you all think this means for online businesses and transactions over the next 30 years?
