Since March, there has been growing talk of a number of companies moving to remote only forever, commercial real estate needs dropping, and brick and mortar stores closing. COVID has really forced us to change the way we approach business and manage employees.
The below article gives some great statistics referencing a research report of C-suite executives titled “C-Suite Perspectives: Accelerated Cloud Migration but Lagging Security.” Some quick data points are below:
83% expect changes made due to COVID for people, processes, and application will be continued once it ends
44% saw a negative effect on budget
43% had a reduction in workforce
37% “reduced their company’s real estate footprint”
80% expect more than 1/4 of employees to continue as remote workers (prior to COVID only 48% allowed more than 1/4 of employees to work remote, and 6% didn’t allow it for anyone)
56% said this “contactless economy” has been positive for business
